The Griffiths III Scale is a restricted Test that is available only to the holders of an ARICD Certificate of Registration. Only holders of such certificates can purchase and use the Griffiths III.
New User Training
The training consists of 2 parts, both of which must be passed.
Griffths III on-line Video Training Course
This is the first of 2-part training to become a registered user of Griffiths III for eligible professionals (see below). It is a web-based course that includes videos of item demonstrations and children being assessed. This Griffiths III Video Training Course covers the core knowledge that you should have to be able to use the Griffiths III in assessing children, interpreting the results appropriately and conveying the conclusions to parents and other professionals.
Course Content: The Griffiths III Video Training Course is divided into 4 modules:
- Introduction: The history of the Griffiths Scales and how the new Griffiths III was developed, and the theory behind psychological testing of children. (~40 min)
- Griffiths III: Overview of the Griffiths III Scales describing all the items in the five Subscales and their administration. (6-10 hrs)
- Scoring, Interpretation and Report Writing. (~1 hr)
- Videos and scoring of two complete Child Assessments. (~1 hr)
Access: You can access the Griffiths III Video Training Course for 6 months from enrolment date.
Language: The Griffiths III Video Training Course is only available in English.
Duration: The Video Training Course takes a minimum of 9 to 12 hours to complete, usually spread over several weeks. Actual time required depends on your background knowledge, so it can take considerably longer if you are not familiar with developmental assessments and their principles. However, you may access this course as often as you like during the six months. You must have completed the Griffiths III Video Training Course before attending the Griffiths III Practical Course, so we advise that you secure a tentative place on a Practical Course before you apply. You should also allow some time to have access to the on-line modules after the Practical Course to review the material.
Video Access: Please note that some countries (e.g. Indonesia) do not allow access to the Vimeo site where the videos are stored and you many need to use a VPN.
Access to the Administration Manual, the Record Book , and the kit when you are taking this module would be helpful, but not mandatory.
When your application has been approved, you will receive an invoice. The link to the eLearning will be sent to you within 5 working days after the payment has been received.
