A Griffiths III Part II Video Module has been developed as an increased resource for Griffiths III training and to facilitate training continuing during the ongoing social distancing requirements of the Covid-19 pandemic. A pilot version of this has been sent to a number of New Griffiths III users and Tutors on 24 October 2020, and it is anticipated that the final version will be launched in early December 2020, when it can then be booked via the website in the same way as the current Part I e-learning. Trainees who complete the Part II Video Module will still have to do a further 2 day Practical training, to be known as a the Part II Practical Module to ensure they become competent users of the Griffiths III Scales. However, where your local guidelines permit, you can continue to run your normal 3 day Griffiths III courses.
The Course content includes the following:
- Administration guidelines for testing Infants and Young Children
- Detailed administration guidelines and pass criteria for the administration of the 5 Subscales with video clips of children of varying ages carrying out the test items
- Complete assessments of a 9 month old baby and a 5 year old
- Scoring the assessment
- Report writing
It will take approximately 8 hours to complete the Part II Video Module but this equates to the content of the normal first day of the three day training and the sessions about scoring and report writing normally held on the subsequent days.
All Tutors will be given access to the Video Module once this has been formally launched, and it is planned to hold a Tutor Workshop in either December 20 or January 21 as a webinar to discuss the increased options available for delivering Griffiths III training. Tutors will be advised of the date of the Tutor meeting once this has been confirmed.
